Turning an immersion pit into an otzar zeriah – source mikveh

When an old pit is renovated or reconstructed (as in this instance, where we turned an immersion pit into a source mikveh and had to close a hole in the wall and raise one wall higher), we use several different types of strong and binding concrete that expand to create pressure and prevent the formation of cracks in the future. We also use a special type of treated concrete that binds completely to the older layers of the mikveh walls, and prevents the formation of cracks.

Creating a concrete water Channel in a rafter roof

A concrete channel in a rafter roof, connected by supportive pillars to the concrete roof of the building (and thereby connected to the building itself). This is a mehadrin procedure for collecting water for the rainwater source (otzar).
